ESP International has been named Company of the Year

ESP International (www.espint.com), a 100% employee-owned company serving OEM off-highway equipment markets, was recognized as The ESOP Association’s Iowa/Nebraska Chapter “2019 ESOP Company Of The Year”. The Chapter announced the award on February 28th at their annual Winter Conference in Omaha.

Each year, company-members of the Iowa/Nebraska Chapter submit nominations based on the criteria of involvement with the ESOP Association and its programs, communication with employees, commitment to the vision of The ESOP Association that endorses, employee participation, wealth creation, and individual dignity and worth. More importantly, employees should feel a sense of ownership and/or that the ESOP is important to the company and to the employees.

A selection committee comprised of chapter officers and leaders then selects the winner based on the merits of the nomination.

"Being a "Company of the Year" judge is no easy task,” states Becky Wiegel of Woodward Communications. “ESP International had several high caliber competitors for this prestigious award, but they checked the boxes in every aspect of what I would look for in a chapter to go on to nationals to represent the Iowa/Nebraska Chapter of the ESOP Association! In 2018, ESP went into overdrive to continue educating their employee-owners and building on their ownership culture. They implemented initiatives to increase communication, peer recognition, financial literacy, continuous improvement, and fun! At the same time, ESP has given back both to their local communities and to the ESOP community both financially and by sharing the time and talents of their employee-owners. I couldn't be happier to recognize such a worthy company for this great honor!"

ESP will represent the Iowa/Nebraska Chapter for consideration of the National ESOP Company of the Year. At this level, they will compete against 17 other chapter nominees. Winners will be announced at the National Conference awards dinner in Washington, DC, on May 22nd.
