Ace Pump Marks 15 Years of AE50 Award Innovation
In 2009, Ace Pump Corporation received the AE50 Innovation Award for its revolutionary Oasis® WetSeal Technology. The system was hailed as a major milestone in preventing equipment downtime while extending service intervals and providing the ultimate in pump reliability.
These results were accomplished by isolating the shaft seals from aggressive/abrasive chemicals and providing uninterrupted seal cooling and lubrication, eliminating the most common causes of centrifugal pump failure. The system utilizes a dual shaft seal, specially formulated synthetic barrier fluid, and air pressure to ensure that the seal is always submerged in barrier fluid (not pumped fluid). Other pump manufacturers might have similar systems, but all wet seal systems are not created equal. Their systems only provide an unpressurized buffer fluid during critical run-dry periods, allowing contamination and providing insufficient cooling when it’s needed most. The constant pressurization in the Oasis® system ensures that the barrier fluid is always present between the seal faces, providing isolation of the seals and protection for extended run-dry periods.
The Oasis WetSeal Technology first appeared in the Ace FMC-750F-HYD pump and then quickly expanded to the other MAX Series models, including the 650, 755 and 855 pumps. Most recently, the Oasis® system was incorporated into the company’s new Pro 5 Series products, including the 125, 155, 225, and 255 models. These latest releases now provide the protection of the Oasis® system across Ace Pump’s entire product range.
Ace produces thousands of Oasis® WetSeal Technology pumps each year, with most still pumping today. This has made Ace Pump and Oasis® the industry’s gold standard for seal reliability and one of the most requested features for new applications.
