Member companies who participated in the 2019 Business Profile & Financial Performance survey will receive their results electronically this week.
Expect data that helps you compare your operations to companies of like size in categories such as net profit margin, payroll as a percent of net sales, cost of materials as a percent of net sales, cash cycle, and more.
You’ll also see how the most profitable companies conduct business compared to the overall industry as it relates to sales strategies (direct to dealer, for example, vs. OEM sales, or wholesale to dealer).
“When shortline manufacturers reach out to the Association to seek information about membership, they consistently ask whether we provide benchmark data,” said Executive Vice President Vernon Schmidt. “The information has proven itself as valuable. Our members literally take it to the bank as a tool to demonstrate their net worth.”
Watch for an email from Industry Insights. It will contain directions on how to access the information electronically. No one outside of your company will see your results.
