Monitoring Crops with AI Models
In blueberry fields and cranberry bogs throughout South Jersey, diseases and invasive weeds threaten farmers’ crops and their livelihoods. Hieu Nguyen, Ph.D., professor of mathematics in the College of Science & Mathematics, is using smart drones and artificial intelligence (AI) to help farmers monitor their fields for these and other threats.
