Extends the sales tax exemption allowed farm machinery, replacement parts and attachments to machinery, replacement parts and attachements used in the commercial breeding and raising of cattle, horses and other livestock for sale.   Association Position: None

LOUISIANA: Party switching continues in the Louisiana House and Senate.  Two Democratic members of the Senate switched to the GOP last week, and another Democratic House member defected December 14.  Rep. Noble Ellington, a long-time Democrat, former state senator, and current member of the House, said last week that he expects to join the Republicans soon.

TEXAS: Two more Democratic members of the state House defected to the GOP Tuesday, December 14, giving the party a supermajority in the upcoming session of the legislature. Republicans also picked up a House seat in a special election to fill a vacant seat Tuesday, which increases the party’s
advantage to 101-49 in the House.
