Farm Equipment Recognized with Year’s Best Business-to-Business Series by Folio

This fall, Farm Equipment was recognized by Folio Magazine’s 2015 Editorial Awards (“Eddies”)  with the first place prize for the Business-to-Business Series of Articles — Agriculture.

Farm Equipment’s “Transitioning to the Next Generation of Dealers” compilation examined the challenges, obstacles and successes that the successor generation has experienced in the transfer of responsibility at farm equipment dealers. The project (handled by Mike Lessiter, Dave Kanicki and Kim Schmidt) featured in-depth interviews with 8 dealer managers (all under the age of 42) and told the story of succession planning from their unique vantage point, and in their own words.

Folio is a magazine for magazine professionals and its award program recognizes the best in class work as determined by industry peers. A panel of more than 300 judges narrowed 2,800 entries into a pool of 1,000 finalists in the Folio program. In total, 250 awards were given out across 33 categories. Farm Equipment joins the ranks of magazines like the Harvard Business Review, American Marketing Assn., HR Magazine and CFO Magazine.

This collection of interviews with successor generations in dealerships was the inspiration of the “The Next Generation” Dealership Minds Summit held in January 2015 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
