AEM Flash Reports For U.S. & Canada

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers’ (AEM) Canadian Ag Flash Report and the U.S. Ag Flash Report for December 2008 are now available. The reports compare monthly data from the current and past year of the Canadian and U.S. unit retail sales of two- and four-wheel drive tractors and self-propelled combines.



Unit retail sales for Canada:



    Under 40 HP: 850 (-4.9% from 2007)

    40 & Under 100 HP: 647 (-6.6%)

    100 HP & Over: 294 (-9.8%)

    Two-Wheel Drive: 1,791 (-6.4%)

    Four-Wheel Drive: 174 (+91.2%)

    Total Tractors: 1,965 (-1.9%)

    Combines (Self-Propelled):142 (-8.4%)

Unit retail sales for the U.S.:



     Under 40 HP: 5,103 (-26.3% from 2007)

     40 & Under 100 HP: 4,978 (-22.9%)

     100 HP & Over: 2,650 (-0.5%)

     Two-Wheel Drive: 12,731 (-20.7%)

     Four-Wheel Drive: 386 (+5.8%)

     Total Tractors: 13,117 (-20.1%)

     Combines (Self-Propelled): 942 (+3.5%)
