Ag Advertising Up In 2009
AgriMarketing magazine recently reported that through the month of May, print advertising to the agricultural market increased 4%, totaling $103 million according to the American Business Media’s monthly Business Information Network (BIN) report.
Data for the BIN report is supplied by approximately half of the ag publishers so the total is not reflective of the full amount of advertising investments made by agri-marketers. However, it does allow readers to track trends within the industry.
All of the other 21 publishing categories in the BIN report were down. The category with the smallest decline was Pharmaceuticals (-10%). Those with the largest decline were Electronic Engineering (-41%); Computing/Software/Telecomm (-39%), and Transportation/Logistics (-37%).
