ASABE Adopts ISO On Tractor Operation Controls
The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) has adopted without deviations, ISO 15077:2008, Tractors and self-propelled machinery for agriculture – Operator controls – Actuating forces, displacement, location and method of operation.
The ASABE document, ASABE/ISO 15077:2008, Tractors self-propelled machinery for agriculture – Operator controls – Actuating forces, displacement, location and method of operation, replaces two ASABE standards: ASAE S335.4 FEB04, Operator Controls on Agricultural Equipment, and ASAE EP443.1 FEB04, Color Coding Hand Controls. The action further harmonizes existing national and international standards.
A copy of the document can be ordered by contacting ASABE headquarters directly at: martin@asabe.org. ASABE members and those with site-license privileges to the ASABE online Technical Library, at
ASABE.org, can obtain an electronic copy of the standard in approximately two weeks.
For info on this or any other ASABE standard, contact Scott Cedarquist at ASABE, (269) 932-7031, cedarq@asabe.org. A current listing of all ASABE standards projects can be found on the ASABE website at ASABE.org/standards/proposed.html.
