Informa Forecasts Corn Acres Up, Soybean Down

Informa Economics expects USDA’s prospective planting report to show year to year rises in corn and wheat acreage against a decrease for soybeans.

Informa has corn at 91.758 million acres, up 3.566 million from 2010 but just below the USDA’s February baseline projection. Wheat is seen at 57.651 million acres, nearly four million more than last year and above the USDA’s last guess.

Soybean acreage is pegged at 75.269 million acres, down around two million on the year and almost three million less than USDA’s February estimate.
