25x’25 Alliance On USDA Crop Production Report

The 25x’25 Alliance joins other renewable energy advocates in calling on policy makers to exercise good judgment and recognize that while the USDA report on crop production suggests real stress on U.S. farms, it still gives no good reason to back away from our federal Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS).

The ethanol market is already responding to reduced yield projections, with ethanol production decreasing 15% since the beginning of the year. “The Alliance understands the hardships being faced by many in U.S. agriculture today, particularly livestock producers, and would suggest the best response is for Congress to adopt a new five-year farm bill that provides adequate disaster assistance for all of those in need,” said Bart Ruth, 25x’25 Policy Committee chairman.

The Farm Equipment Manufacturers Association is one of over 150 national groups who have endorsed the efforts of 25 x’25; http://bit.ly/25x25_endorse.
