Google Glass Farm Tour

Members looking for ways to reach out to farmers in the fields have for the last several years been working to not only provide information but to insure it is formatted for mobile devices. From owner’s manuals to equipment specifications to repair videos, the focus has been on formatting for phones, iPads and other mobile devices.

Now comes the next formatting challenge. Last month, farmers were getting their first glimpse of Google Glass and talking with Agriculture.com about some of the ways they see putting the device, or others like it, to work on their farms. How would you use a “wearable” device like this? Some of the first comments went right to equipment maintenance, repairs and safety training.

We have created a link on FarmEquip.org for members to view the short but very insightful video from Agriculture.com.

While Google Glass is in the hands of just a few thousand people around the U.S. right now, most believe that will change by the middle of 2014, by which time the company expects the device to be available to consumers.
