Kansas Sidelines Corp Farm Law Repeal

Senator Larry Powell (R-Garden City), who serves as Chairman of the Senate Natural Resources Committee, stated he is not taking up the issue of corporate farming this year. This means the campaign to repeal Kansas’ law limiting corporate farming operations appears to have been sidelined for this session. He cited a report from the Kansas Judicial Council which recommended potential modification of the state’s statute to avoid potential constitutional issues, but the Council didn’t endorse wholesale repeal.
