BP Will Exit U.S. Cellulosic Ethanol Market

BP Plc announced plans to close down its U.S. cellulosic operation by the end of the first quarter of 2015, reported AgWeb.com.

The Dec. 8, 2014, article said that BP is exploring options to sell its demonstration plant in Jennings, LA; a technology center in San Diego; the Highlands feedstock farm in Florida; and some activities in Brazil, Houston or London.

A BP spokesman said it will now focus on building the profitability and scale of its sugarcane biofuels business in Brazil. S
