The Countdown is … In Triple Digits, but On!

We are 138 days away from the opening of the Association's convention in Kansas City. It is not time quite yet to pull the suitcase from the closet, but at the Association, we are thinking KC!

In these early days of preparation, we resist the urge to bombard you with news of speakers and things to do. What I want to do instead is to paint in broad strokes the purpose of our fall gathering, offer a quick glimpse of what Kansas City offers for your free time, and tell you about one very special guest.

In October, we will see each other at the Fall Marketing & Distribution Convention. In April 2016, we gather in Clearwater, Fla., for the Spring Conference and Supplier Conference Showcase.

The meetings' names are mouthfuls for a reason. Our Spring Conference focuses on supplies manufacturers need to assemble their equipment. The fall focuses on selling the equipment.

And this year, we have much to talk about related to distribution. We see news almost every week of dealers closing, selling, or consolidating.

At the Fall Convention, we will dive into what the changes mean for Association members and what the distribution landscape might look like for our successors.

Of course, we will have a little fun, too. This issue of Shortliner offers a glimpse of what's available to us in Kansas City. The August issue of the Association magazine Ag Innovator will tell you more. As always, expect time to connect with your colleagues, explore, and learn.

See you in Kansas City! S
