Chat with Experts: Discussion Leaders at Fall Convention
The Association hears consistently from shortline executives that the opportunity to connect with and learn from others in the industry is among the most important benefits of membership. With that in mind, we have planned expert-led conversations for the Fall Marketing & Distribution Convention. The panels continue to take shape, but we want to introduce you to two of the experts you will meet in Kansas City.
Doug Griffin will be part of a panel on contemporary concerns in distributing farm equipment. Griffin brings 27 years of experience in the farm equipment manufacturing industry, including serving as the North America sales manager for Caterpillar's Agricultural products division until 2002, when Caterpillar sold its ag division to AGCO.
In 2006, Griffin assumed the role of Vice President of Marketing for AGCO in North America. After successive promotions and an acquisition, AGCO named Griffin Vice President of Global Product and Brand Management, and he oversaw new product introduction around the world.
Griffin has a notable record of addressing complex business needs and driving fundamental business improvements, and we are delighted he will share his insights with members during a panel discussion the afternoon of Wednesday, Oct. 28.
Chad Colby will talk with members on Thursday, Oct. 29, about 21st-century strategies for equipment sales.
Colby is the founder and principal of Colby AgTech, where he works with progressive farmers, leading companies and government agencies around the world to provide a deeper understanding of new technology and recommend its practical applications.
Colby, who grew up on his family's farm in Central Illinois, is a self-described tech geek. He started AgTechTalk.com in 2013 to provide real-time information on ag technology. The web site continues to serve as a platform for important conversations in agriculture.
His career includes serving as lead of product support for 360 Yield Center, a team of agricultural industry leaders who work with and for farmers. Colby also is well-known for his advocacy of drone use in agriculture. S
