See North America’s Biggest Tube Laser

Among our members common interests: steel. How it’s shipped, cut, welded and painted matters to your everyday.

So, we're thrilled to conclude the 2015 Fall Convention by inviting you to take an inside look at EXLTUBE on Friday morning.

EXLTUBE manufactures structural and mechanical tubing, coated pipe, and specialty pipe. Since it opened in 1981, its niche in fabricating mechanical and structural tubing has expanded dramatically.

The company prides itself on producing the material that supports awe-inspiring architecture and some of the world’s toughest machinery.

This special tour for our Fall Convention attendees is 9:45 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30, and includes two stops.

The first stop is at EXLTUBE’s manufacturing location in Kansas City, where you’ll see high-frequency welding, continuous tube forming, hydrostatic pressure testing, proprietary pipe coatings, and robotic and automated material handling as part of the tube production process.

Next, we’ll visit EXLTUBE’s Kansas City service center and tour the processing center, where we’ll see the largest tube laser in North America.

The TTM can laser up to 24-inch round sections, 16-inch square tube, and 20-by-12-inch rectangular tube. It also beams up to 194 pounds per foot and features a 60-foot maximum in-feed and out-feed.
