Steel Production Down From 2015

The online resource Steelworks reports that for the week ending Jan.16, domestic raw steel production was 1,652,000 net tons, while the capability utilization rate was 69.1%. Production was up 3.6% from the week that ended Jan. 9.

The most recent week's production represents an 8.6% decrease from the same period in 2015.

Adjusted year-to-date, production through Jan. 16 was down 13.4% compared to last year. S
