Educational Achievements at S3
S3 Enterprises in Swift Current, Saskatchewan is celebrating the accomplishments of several employees who’ve recently completed professional training.
Through the Canada-Saskatchewan Job Grant program and S3’s Employee Education Allowance, employees have pursued professional training at no personal cost.
Among recent employee achievements:
• A senior engineering technician acquired UNB’s Occupational Health & Safety Certification.
• A production manager and a senior engineering technician achieved their Yellow Belt in Lean Six Sigma certification.
• Three managers completed an executive development course and earned certificates in leadership and management.
• Three engineering team members earned certificates for a series of courses in computer-aided design and computer-
aided engineering.
• Seven welders completed sessions to earn their journeyperson certification.
“So many times people find themselves trying to juggle continuing their education with the demands of full-time work and family,” said Jenna Parenteau, executive assistant at S3 Enterprises. “The combination of stress and cost has discouraged a growing percentage of valuable people from acquiring certification, or from developing the skills that would propel them to the next level. We are so happy to facilitate our employees’ growth in this way.”
Through the Canada-Saskatchewan Job Grant program, employers contribute one third of employees’ training costs, and federal and provincial governments contribute the remaining two-thirds.
