Associations Expand State Advocacy Work

The Western Equipment Dealers Association (WEDA) has announced that Eric Wareham has joined the organization as director of government affairs. Wareham will expand the Association’s work with legislators, governors and their staffs on legislative activities that impact WEDA and its dealer members.

Before joining WEDA, Wareham served as in-house counsel for Kerr Contractors, an Oregon-based heavy civil construction company. He also has served as the director of government relations and general counsel for the Western Wood Preservers Institute.

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) also announced last week it would hire a full-time employee to expand AEM’s state-level advocacy work. The decision is in response to what AEM deems a growing number of restrictive regulations.
