Dealer Sentiment Reflects Struggle in Ag

The mood among farm equipment dealers reflects challenges in the farm economy.

Responses from a monthly survey of farm equipment dealers reveal:

• In October, sales were down 10 percent year over year.
• 53 percent of dealers forecast a sales decline for 2016. 
• 47 percent of dealers categorized their used equipment inventory as “too high.”
• Prices on used large tractors are down 8 percent on average from September to October.
• Prices on used combines are down 12 percent on average from September to October.
