Supply Summit Offers Outstanding Speaker Line-Up, Registration Savings

When the ag industry goes through an inevitable downcycle like the one it is in today, and our members report less-than-stellar sales in back-to-back years, it is important to remember that for the vast majority of our manufacturers, this is not your first rodeo.

The same is true of our supplier members. You know how to adapt, how to innovate. And, you bring us your best every time we gather for our annual spring meeting.

That is especially true this year as we’ve planned the 2017 Supply Summit & Showcase in Little Rock, April 5 to 7. With suppliers’ help, we have assembled a great selection of speakers to address the topics you told us mattered to you.

Take a look.

Gene Marks

Ninety Days in Office –

Keynote speaker Gene Marks is a columnist, author, and small business owner. He writes every day on business, politics and public policy for the Washington Post and weekly for Forbes, Inc. Magazine, Entrepreneur, and the Huffington Post. Marks will discuss how the new policies of the Trump administration may affect your companies and how you can prepare to make the most of the changes.

Dan AriensLean Manufacturing –

Dan Ariens, Chairman and CEO of Ariens Company, is a strong proponent of Lean manufacturing principles and has created a culture of continuous improvement that has resulted in the creation of world-class manufacturing facilities by Lean standards.

Automation Movement –

Attorney Todd Janzen will help you make sense of the many legal issues related to automation in our factories and on our customers’ farms. From autonomous farm equipment to the storage and use of on-farm-data, Janzen has written extensively on the topics that are changing the face of agriculture.

Livestock As An Economic Driver.

You have reminded us that livestock is an important part of your customer bases and deserving of our attention in a conversation on the economy. In Little Rock, we will explore the subject with Derrell Peel, professor of agribusiness at Oklahoma State University.

His main program areas at the university include livestock market outlook and marketing/risk management education for livestock producers. He also works in the area of international livestock and meat trade with particular focus on Mexico and Canada and the North American livestock and meat industry.  He lived in Mexico on sabbatical in 2001 and has developed an extensive knowledge of the Mexican cattle and beef industry and the economics of cattle and beef trade between the U.S. and Mexico.

This is one of our best-ever speaker lineups, and the Association is backing this program with major cost-saving incentives for manufacturers who register more than one executive or bring a purchasing agent.

Look for more information on these discounts, plant tours, and networking opportunities in the winter issue of Ag Innovator magazine, which is at the printer now and on its way soon.

But why wait? Go to FarmEquip.org today for more information and secured online registration.
