Dealer News: Merger, Expansion
The Jim Pattison Group has merged the Maple Farm Equipment and JayDee AgTech chains, which deal mainly in John Deere farm equipment. The two chains are to be rebranded as Pattison Agriculture. The dealerships are based in Saskatchewan and Manitoba, Canada.
Darrin Didychuk, president of Pattison Agriculture, said the merger “creates one of the largest agriculture-focused equipment companies in Canada,” with 17 dealerships and 440 employees serving over 18 million acres of prairie farm production.
The merged company will be headquartered in Swift Current, Sask.

Ag-Pro opened its 37th equipment store in January. The store in Anderson, S.C., is the third in the state and the first in a high-traffic, less rural environment.
Rob Long, president of Ag-Pro’s South Carolina/North Georgia division, said the new location reflects an emerging market strategy.
“A store like this is designed to capture the interest of the weekend farmer who also works a full-time job, or the folks who have grass to mow,” Long said.
Ag-Pro stores, which are Deere dealership, are based primarily in Texas, Georgia and north Florida.
