Titan Machinery Inc., a network of agricultural and construction equipment dealerships, plans to consolidate its locations and reorganize its operating structure.
The company closed one construction location during the quarter ended January 31. It expects to close 14 agriculture locations during the first half of the current fiscal year.
Implementation will be complete by July 31. The company expects to save approximately $25 million a year. For fiscal 2018, savings are expected to be approximately $20 million.
David Meyer, Titan Machinery’s chair-man and CEO, said: “As we built one of the largest equipment dealership networks in North America, we made a number of acquisitions, including smaller ones, in close proximity to other locations in our network. Although it’s a difficult decision to close a Titan location, by consolidating these adjacent locations, we will be able to achieve increased scale and efficiency to support our customers in those markets. We are committed to and focused on re-taining the majority of our customers and many specialty trained employees from locations that will be consolidated.” Meyer said the cost savings, combined with our reduced inventory levels, better aligns Titan’s balance sheet with current market conditions.
Rocky Mountain Dealerships Inc. has appointed Jim Wood as its chief sales and operating officer. Wood will be responsible for driving business and operational efficiency within Rocky, assisting with stra-tegic planning, and overseeing all key sales and inventory management functions.
Wood brings nearly three decades of experience working in the sales and management functions of the agriculture equipment business. He has been with Rocky since 2011 and has served as its vice president of agriculture since 2012. Wood sits on the board of directors of the Western Equipment Dealers Association.
