Oregon’s Rewrite of Dealer Distribution Law Fails
Monday evening we were pleased to Tweet to over 2,000 followers (Twitter/Shortliner) that due to numerous unresolved problems with Oregon's SB-982, the total rewrite of the states dealer distribution laws, would not advance out of committee this year.
We had noted in the last Shortliner newsletter a number of problems with the bill and our attorney had drafted an amendment which would have carved out most if not all of our members from the law.
Our thanks to Lessiter Publications for allowing us space to share our views with the industry in their guest opinion column earliner this month.
This is truly only a first small step in Oregon. We hope the WEDA will share any specific issues with their dealers need addressed with shortline manufacturers and that we can work together to address problems before new legislative efforts are launched.
