ASABE Revises Standard

The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers has revised its adoption of ISO 5673-1:2005 for the general manufacturing and safety requirements for PTO drive shafts.

The standard, ANSI/ASABE AD5673-1:2005, Agricultural tractors and machinery—Power take-off drive shafts and power-input connection—Part 1: General manufacturing and safety requirements, was revised to include Type 4 PTOs and associated increases to power.

U.S. technical experts will propose incorporating these revisions into international standards.
