Council Corner: Tillage & Ground Engaging Equipment
The Tillage & Ground Engaging Equipment Product Council discusses issues specific to tillage equipment and accessories, such as safety standards, industry trends, and other important topics.
The council invites industry experts to speak at virtually every Supply Summit & Showcase and Marketing & Distribution Convention. Brad Baker with the Salford Group, who is chairman of the council, said he got involved because he saw its value.
“I see an ever-intensifying anti-tillage movement in agriculture that is beginning to shape public policy in some regions. At the same time, I feel it’s one of the most poorly understood concepts by farmers,” he said. “The uncertainty and confusion this creates makes it difficult for tillage manufacturers to understand what the future of tillage looks like. In my opinion, this backs the validity of the Tillage Council as it brings together many different opinions and perspectives that allow us as manufacturers to get a better view of what is happening. As companies, we can then make better decisions.”
Anyone who attends a summit or convention is welcome to take part in Tillage Council sessions.
The Tillage Council is featured this month as part of an occasional Shortliner series focusing on Association committees and councils.
