Take a Plant Tour:
Metal-Spinning, Robotic Welding

We conclude the convention this year with the option for plant tours on Friday. Attendees are invited to see igm Robotic Systems, Inc., or Glenn Metalcraft Inc.

Glenn Metalcraft is one of only a few companies that specializes in heavy-gauge metal spinning. It operates the most powerful spin-forming machine of its type built for a U.S. company. Tour participants will see heavy-gauge metal spinning in action and how automation and robotics are incorporated into the process.

On the tour of igm Robotic Systems, participants will see the workings of an operation that designs and manufactures robot systems especially developed for arc welding. The company has built more than 3,000 welding robot systems operating in industries such as agriculture, earth-moving, rail, automotive, defense, mining, and shipbuilding. Participants will see a system in action on a part from McFarlane Manufacturing.

Both tours depart from the hotel about 8 a.m. Friday and return by noon. The bus for the Glenn Metalcraft tour will stop at the airport on its return trip to the hotel. Both tours cost an additional $49.

If you have registered for the convention and would like to add a plant tour, contact Tricia Kidd at tkidd@FarmEquip.org, or call (314) 878-2304.

If you have not yet registered for the convention, you will have the option in the online process to add a tour.
