Matching Gifts for Schnell Scholarship Approach Goal
Member companies and individual executives have donated $12,850 to the Robert K. Schnell Memorial Scholarship Fund at the University of Missouri.
Schnell was executive vice president of this Association from 1984 to 2009. He died earlier this year, and in his memory, the Association’s Services Corp. established a scholarship to support a student pursuing a degree in agricultural systems management.
The Services Corp. made an initial $10,000 endowed gift and will match up to $15,000 in others’ contributions. Only $2,150 remains to complete the match.
“It’s no surprise that our members demonstrated extraordinary generosity when we shared news of this scholarship,” said Executive Vice President Vernon Schmidt. “It’s a great tribute to Bob.”
Tax-deductible contributions to the scholarship fund should be made payable to the University of Missouri—Schnell Scholarship, and mailed to the Farm Equipment Manufacturers Association, 1000 Executive Parkway, Suite 100, St. Louis, Mo., 63141.
