In Memoriam: Dick Tapper

Richard James Tapper, founder of Buchanan Metal Forming, died Jan. 20.

Buchanan Metal Forming, which joined the Association in 1990, was the last of several businesses the entrepreneurial Tapper founded in his lifetime. Son Chris Tapper is its president today.

He is remembered as being passionate about his family and his garden, which he opened to the public each summer. He also was an avid poker player who played in tournaments throughout the United States, a philanthropist, and an animal lover.
