Filing Exclusion Requests
Steel If your organization uses steel in business activities in the United States and wishes to request an exclusion from the tariff on steel article imports:

Download the Request for Exclusion from Remedies from the Section 232 National Security Investigation of Imports of Steel (Exclusion Request) form.

Complete the form using Microsoft Excel and save a copy on your computer.

Go to Docket Number BIS-2018-0006, complete the required information, and upload the completed Exclusion Request form.
Aluminium If your organization uses aluminum in business activities in the United States and wishes to request an exclusion from the tariff on aluminum article imports:

Go to Docket Number BIS-2018-0002, complete the required information, and upload the completed Exclusion Request form.
Only individuals or organizations using steel/aluminum articles identified in Proclamation 9705/9704 in business activities (e.g., construction, manufacturing, or supplying steel to users) in the United States may submit exclusion requests with respect to that Proclamation. Any individual or organization in the United States may file objections to steel exclusion requests, but the Commerce Department will only consider information directly related to the submitted exclusion request that is the subject of the objection.
