Deere Reman to Add Jobs in Midwest

John Deere Reman will add drivetrain and hydraulic remanufacturing operations to its plants in Springfield, Mo.

The Association reported in the March 9 issue of Shortliner that John Deere planned to close its Canadian remanufacturing plant in Edmonton, Alberta, and consolidate its remanufacturing operations in Springfield, Mo.

The change will eliminate 180 jobs in Edmonton and create a reported 130 in Springfield, which employs about 400 people.

Springfield has designated itself as the nation’s remanufacturing hub.
