AGCO Expands in France

AGCO will soon expand its presence in Beauvais, France, according to Martin Richenhagen, AGCO’s chairman, president, and CEO.

The company will invest $44.4 million to develop an “industry 4.0 site,” Richenhagen said, which will create 200 new jobs atop the 100-plus jobs created with Beauvais 3, which began operations in September 2018.

He said AGCO intends to make Beauvais “the global home of the Massey Ferguson brand.” The expansion will support the integration of:

  • A tractor customization workshop.
  • An additive manufacturing facility, which will start next month for plastic parts and in 2021 for metal parts.
  • In-house production of hydraulics pipes, which are currently outsourced.
  • Gearbox remanufacturing.

This extra space will also allow AGCO to roll out a range of new agricultural machinery, as a part of the company’s growth plans for Massey Ferguson, the company said.
