ASABE Forms Drone Committee
The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) has announced the formation of a new technical committee focused on unmanned aerial systems (UAS), or drones.
The UAS committee, designated MS-60, will focus on research, education, and the development of standards pertaining to this rapidly expanding area of the agricultural industry.
MS-60 will address the development and applications of unmanned aerial systems in agriculture, associated autonomous control systems, integrated multi-mode sensor payloads, data links and communication systems, and synthesis of UAS-derived data across the full scope of ASABE technical interests. The committee is chaired by Wayne Woldt, an associate professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
