Association Expands Benefits for 2017

In response to economic challenges facing many members of the Farm Equipment Manufacturers Association, its board of directors has decided to expand benefits.

Companies that renew memberships within 30 days of receiving an invoice will pay less for their membership in 2017 than they paid this year. Annual dues for manufacturing members are based on sales volumes, and the discount offered to members will reflect their dues levels.

The Association also will continue to offer companies the option to pay dues in six-month installments.

FEMA Services Corp. decided to expand the amount of time members can discuss legal questions with attorneys at no cost. Until now, members have been entitled to free 30-minute consultations with counsel to discuss dealer contracts or personnel issues. The Association now will pay for 60-minute legal consultations. As has been the case in the past, the benefit renews with every legal question.

“The Association recognizes that during this economic downturn, the services it offers members become even more crucial,” said Vernon Schmidt, executive vice president. “We will double down on our efforts to serve as advocates for the shortline industry, and we will continue to look at opportunities to bring greater value to our members.”
