Association Welcomes Meetings/Membership Pro

The Association welcomed Andrea Schnelten to its office team this summer as Director of Meetings and Member Services. She succeeds Elaina Jackson, who moved to Texas in April.

Schnelten brings more than a decade of experience in planning events and serving members for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. She also manages a family farm in Rockbridge, Ill.

“Andrea’s professional history and personal interests made her an obvious choice for the Association,” said Executive Vice President
Vernon Schmidt. “She brings a curiosity about the shortline industry, an understanding of agriculture, and a passion for serving members.”

In her first weeks on the job, Schnelten has focused on creating a memorable experience for members at the Marketing & Distribution Convention in San Diego and familiarizing herself with what matters most to members.

“One of my goals is to be sure that members understand the many ways the Association helps them work more efficiently and effectively,” Schnelten said. “And, of course, I want to make each conference and convention the perfect opportunity to learn, network, and grow business.”
