Changes at Google Affecting Agri-Marketers
Recent changes in the way Google does business are affecting agri-marketers. And, because of Google’s dominance in the search engine marketplace, those who market shortline equipment must take note.

Among changes:
- Google stopped reporting the search terms that generated activity.
- It responded to the rise in use of mobile devices by reporting search results in a fashion that places mobile-friendly sites at the top of the list.
- It dropped right-column pay-per-click ads and expanded pay-per-click ads above the organic results, which puts pressure on search optimizers.
In the summer issue of Ag Innovator magazine, Clayton Kreicker, president of TSA Communications, explained these changes and offered tips on how to respond to them.
“The single best way to win online search battles is to keep them from taking place,” Kreicker wrote. Employ a targeted balance of marketing efforts to drive customers directly to your web site.
