GT Mfg. Receives Presidential Award for Exporting

U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross presented GT Mfg., Inc. with the President’s “E” Award for Excellence in Exports at a ceremony in Washington, D.C., in May. The President’s “E” Award is the highest recognition any U.S. entity can receive for making a significant contribution to the expansion of U.S. exports.

In a congratulatory letter to the company, Ross wrote: “GT Mfg. has demonstrated a sustained commitment to export expansion. The “E” Awards Committee was very impressed with GT Mfg.’s exports to 43 countries over the past four years. The company’s more than 100 percent growth in employment related to exports was also notable. GT Mfg.’s achievements have undoubtedly contributed to national export expansion efforts that support the U.S. economy and create American jobs.”

GT Mfg., Inc. manufactures a product that allows the farming community worldwide to save a greater percentage of crops lost to weather, spoilage in the field or diseases. GT has leveraged the reputation of its grain dryers to increase and expand its profile worldwide.

“Exporting is an important part of our sales,” said Dennis M. Pedersen, GT Mfg’s President & CEO. “Buyers and consumers in foreign markets want quality products made in the United States, and we are honored to receive the “E” Award.”

In total, Secretary Ross honored 25 U.S. companies and organizations from across the country with the President’s “E” Award for their role in strengthening the U.S. economy by sharing American ingenuity outside of our borders.
