Internet Bill Helps Iowa Farmers

Gov. Terry Branstad (R) signed a “Connect Every Acre” high-speed broadband bill into law in a machine shed in Perry, Iowa, on Monday, Radio Iowa reported.

The bill signed at VanWall Equipment helps coordinate and facilitate broadband access in targeted service areas throughout the state, and it establishes a grant program to communication service providers.

The law is expected to connect farmers and others to a faster, more capable Internet, which becomes increasingly essential as farm equipment becomes more dependent on digital data collection.

The “Connect Every Acre” law also improves opportunities in rural Iowa schools and among other rural Internet users. S
