Is Your Company Protected?
With this Shortliner comes an exciting new service FEMA is providing to you at no cost. It’s called Cyber Risk News from a firm called Net Diligence. If you’re connected to the Internet, cyber crime is something with which you must become aware.
Protection from hackers gaining access to your employee’s personal information, to client’s information, to your own financial records is something you can’t ignore. And Net Diligence is a firm that can help you.
Many think that computer hackers are only interested in information maintained by the government or big business. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Small firms, many with little or no protection, are often the most vulnerable to cyber attacks.
And to make matters worse, often it is these small firms that are completely unaware of the threat.
To add to the woes, it is unlikely that your current business liability insurance will protect you against computer fraud. For that fact, such computer fraud is probably specifically excluded from your coverage.
For more than a year, FEMA’s Risk Management Committee has been looking for ways that FEMA members might be protected against cyber crime. Because of the nature of the “beast” and the fast-changing world of computer hacking, it was felt that, as soon as any type of publication that may be sent to members would, within days, be out of date.
Mark Greisiger’s (Mark.Greisiger@NetDiligence.com) firm, Net Diligence, will regularly, however, keep you up to date with this “shady” part of the Internet.
Included with this newsletter is an example of what Cyber Risk News is all about. Net Diligence usually publishes Cyber Risk News about every three or four weeks, depending on current events. Members that receive the Shortliner and that have provided us with an email address, will receive several upcoming issues of Cyber Risk News, with an “opt out” option.
To fully protect themselves, many firms are relying on an ISO risk survey, which Net Diligence can provide. To specifically get cyber liability insurance coverage, such a survey will probably be necessary.
We repeat, if you’re connected to the Internet, you’ll want to pay careful attention to Net Diligence’s
Cyber Risk News.
And if credit protection is what you need, take a look at the special rates offered to FEMA members by FEMA Services-Endorsed Coface North America. In this day of heightened awareness of credit worthiness, it will pay all members to be certain of the credit condition of both dealers and their suppliers.
Even though your firm may have been doing business with a certain supplier or dealer for years, in these fast-changing times, it’s imperative that you’re aware of their current financial information of your business partners. In this ever-changing world, where information changes at breakneck speed, you need a reliable source of supply of up-to-date credit information for those firms you rely on to both build and sell your equipment.
Click on FEMA’s web site (www.FarmEquip.org) under “Endorsed Services” followed by “Worldwide Credit Reports” to order exactly what you want. Special FEMA rates are shown.
Or contact Jennifer Garvey, FEMA’s representative in Coface’s Chicago office, (312) 382-7080, ext. 231, to learn more about what you can expect from Coface.
Coface is the world’s largest supplier of credit information and, you’ll find their prices to undoubtedly be less than what you have experienced.
