Mahindra to Build in Canada

A fund to help Canadian communities diversify from the asbestos business will support construction of a 22,000-square foot industrial building for Mahindra near Quebec City. It will be the tractor manufacturer’s first facilities in Canada.

Mahindra Canada-Est will receive $350,000 in a “repayable contribution,” said a representative from Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions.

The Mahindra site will be set up in partnership with Bercomac, a company that makes after-market tools such as blades, mowers and snowblowers for tractors and all-terrain vehicles.

Mahindra is based in Mumbai, India.
