Member News: Landoll trailer used to haul the MOAB

The Marysville Advocate reports that before the largest non-nuclear bomb ever detonated by the U.S. was loaded onto a plane, it rode on a trailer built at Marysville’s Landoll Corporation.

Don Landoll told the publication that the low-bed semi-trailer is a rollerized model 135-CSY.

The trailer carries loads for C130, C140 and C5A military aircraft. Landoll said it would have been pulled up behind the plane and the bomb loaded into the back before takeoff.

Landoll said the particular model of trailer has been sold to the Air Force, Navy and Postal Service for various uses. Landoll has had government contracts consistently since 1986, when the company began to build and sell de-icers to the Air Force.

Landoll said it’s always of interest where the company’s equipment ends up. "You always wonder where all this is going,” he said. “It’s often to unique places.”

Recent contracts include Load Handling System Trailers, Landoll said, that have several uses including military loads and for carrying sea lane containers.

The company sells several types of trailers to carry military vehicles and has also built trailers for the Israeli military in recent years.
