Nebraska Senator Appointed to Ag Committee

U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) has been appointed to the Senate Agriculture Committee to fill the seat vacated by former Senator Luther Strange (R-Ala.)

Nebraska has not held a seat on the Agriculture Committee since Senator Ben Sasse left in January 2017 to join Judiciary and Armed Services. Sasse’s move left the Ag Committee without a Nebraskan for the first time in nearly 50 years.

Fischer’s farm bill priorities include supporting the farm safety net, protecting crop insurance and expanding trade.
