Schmeiser Buys Smart-Till

T. G. Schmeiser Co., Inc. recently acquired the Smart-Till product line from HCC, Inc. of Mendota, Ill. The purchase includes all assets and trade names associated with the Smart-Till product line and its associated parts and components. Smart-Till's manufacturing and administration operations will relocate from Illinois to the newly constructed Schmeiser manufacturing facility in Selma, Calif.

Smart-Till’s unique design allows it to fracture the soil more than eight inches deep with little surface disturbance. The process creates improved air and water exchange, offering many benefits for different applications including vertical tillage and aerating the soil. T.G. Schmeiser Co. President Andrew Cummings said the Smart-Till product line has potential for water conservation, which is especially valuable in the context of the extreme California drought.

“We look forward to building and expanding upon what HCC has accomplished so far with the product line while expanding that technology into other T. G. Schmeiser product lines,” Cummings said.
