Schumacher Company Expands Capacity

GROUP SCHUMACHER has begun a $4.5 million expansion at Schumacher Company in Durant, Iowa. The project will expand the capacity and upgrade manufacturing technology at the Durant site, which houses operations for the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

“The location is ideal and meets the dual sales strategy of the group: to be a partner for agricultural machine manufacturers and dealers, as well as farmers and agricultural contractors,” said General Manager Selina Schumacher, who represents the third generation of this family-run company and is in charge of training, development and infrastructure.

Schumacher said the company sees a promising future for its North American operations.

“The expansion of capacities and capabilities at the Durant location paves the way for greater flexibility and consistent quality assurance,” she said.

The company manufactures and sells systems and components for harvesting machinery, primarily for combines and balers.
