Social Media Marketing: Always Evolving
The Social Media Examiner, an online magazine that defines its mission as helping us “navigate the constantly changing social media jungle,” has released a 53-page report that breaks down how businesses use social media marketing and what they might do next.
While Facebook holds the top spot as the most commonly used social media platform, marketers surveyed question whether their Facebook marketing is effective, and they intend to expand use of other social media.
A striking number say they want to do more to develop tactics to engage their audiences through social media.
Michael A. Stelzner, Founder of Social Media Examiner and author of the report, highlighted these findings:
-
Only 45% of marketers think their Facebook efforts are effective.
-
While 93% of marketers use Facebook, 68% want to learn more, and 62% plan to increase Facebook activity.
-
When asked to name one platform they considered most important, 52% of marketers chose Facebook; 21% chose LinkedIn.
-
A reported 66% of marketers plan to broaden their social network by building their presence on Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
-
At least 91% of marketers want to know the most effective social tactics and best ways to engage their audiences.
- Today, 57% of those surveyed use video in marketing; 72% want to learn more and increase video use.
