Sports Star Headlines Joint Opening Session
At each year’s Fall Convention, EMDA and FEMA Joint Opening Session brings together both groups’ members to “kick-off” their conventions with a dynamic presentation that sets the tone for an intensive week of appointments and meetings.
This November, the Joint Opening Session will begin at 8:00am with breakfast and a keynote address by Rick Barry. This Hall of Fame forward is the only player to lead the NCAA, NBA and ABA in scoring.
While playing fourteen seasons, including 10 with the NBA, Barry racked up a career total of 25,279 points. He was a 12-time All-Star selection, and in 1975, he led his Golden State Warriors to the NBA championship. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1987 and named to the NBA’s 50th Anniversary All-Time Team in 1996.
Few players in basketball history played with more passion and competitive zeal than Rick Barry. On the court, he had only one speed: turbo. He used any means necessary to score and win, including slashing drives to the hoop with a reckless abandon that resulted in either two points or a trip to the free throw line.
Inspired by his raw talent, drive, determination and staying power, EMDA invited Barry to talk about his remarkable career, share what he’s learned and tell us how we can apply his success secrets when working towards goals in our own businesses and lives. S
