Spring Conference: Providing Decision-Making Tools in Tough Times
This week we opened registration for our 2016 Spring Conference in Clearwater Beach, Fla., with a waiting list of members eager to engage and learn from each other in what is not likely to be a record-breaking year for many members.
We can’t think of a better place or a better time to step back from daily manufacturing operations and take a fresh look at the challenges and opportunities of 2016.
With two airports within 20 minutes of our meeting location, direct flights and good connections are plentiful, and many discounted airfares are available now.
When all is right with the world and orders are coming in faster than equipment can be built, most of our members will do well regardless of what industry knowledge they've gained or what new supplier they've found.
In current economic conditions, however, every cost-saving tool needs to be found, every mistake needs to be avoided, and opportunities which may not have existed a few years ago needs to be explored.
Many members will make decisions in the coming months which will affect their ability to find new business opportunities and to be prepared for when the wheel turns and agriculture is again the engine moving the economy.
Making the right choices will depend greatly on having the best industry and economic information available, which is why we encourage you to be part of the 2016 Spring Conference and Suppliers Product Showcase.
Our total focus for the conference is providing that critical industry knowledge to shape your decision-making.
Today we are pleased to announce Dr. Ernie Goss, as keynote speaker. Goss is the Director of The Goss Institute, an independent bipartisan think tank that conducts quality business and economic research.
The Institute research leads to innovative, practical recommendations to affect change and public policy.
Goss is currently the MacAllister Chair and Professor of Economics at Creighton University in Omaha, Neb. He conducts monthly surveys of bank CEO’s in rural areas of 10 states and supply chain managers in 12 states, which he uses to assess regional economies.
While Goss does not have a crystal ball, few are in a better position to objectively look at the available data and help our members plan for the years to come.
