Two India-based tractor makers reported gains in sales in February compared to 2019.
Mahindra sold a total of 22,561 tractors in February, up 19 percent from the number of tractors sold during the same month last year.
Domestic sales in February increased by 21 percent year-over-year. Exports were down by 22 percent.
In related news, Escorts reported an 18 percent increase in sales in February compared to the same month last year.
Domestic sales were up 16.3 percent and exports by 71.4 percent. The export gain represents an increase from 322 units to 552 units.
The company’s April-to-February sales were down by 4.7 percent, which reflects both domestic and export sales.
