ASABE Completes Cotton Module Cover Standard

The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) has completed ASABE S615.2, Cotton Module Cover Material Performance.

The document is a major revision of S615.1 that adds performance specifications for module covers used on cylindrical modules, which are now the dominant seed-cotton storage method in the U.S.

Module covers protect the cotton after harvest until it reaches the gin. This standard provides the physical test requirements for material used to manufacture these covers, which are exposed to environmental conditions such as wind, rain, and sunlight.

ASABE members with standards access and those with site-license privileges can download the standard at elibrary.asabe.org.

Members of this Association who are not members of ASABE can receive at no cost the compilation of industry standards produced by ASABE—a $650 value. Contact Membership Director Matt Rice at Matt@FarmEquip.org, or (314) 878-2304 to get your company’s copy.
